Spot

The first commercially available quadruped robot. Where BigDog proved the concept, Spot productized it. At 70 pounds, Spot can climb stairs, navigate construction sites, and operate in environments too dangerous or tedious for humans. Its open payload system lets customers mount cameras, sensors, lidar, and manipulators for specific tasks. Spot is used in power plants, mines, oil rigs, and construction sites worldwide. Boston Dynamics built it not as a one-off research project but as a platform — a general-purpose body that serves many use cases through modular attachments. This platform approach is directly relevant to what IM is building.
